Trail Volunteer Day – Der Zerkle – September 11
The Flatirons Climbing Council (FCC) in conjunction with the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) is conducting a volunteer trail project on Saturday, September 11.
The project will repair the base of the Der Zerkle and surrounding trails. This area sees heavy use from day visitors that lose their way from the Mallory Cave Trail. Volunteers will work along side the OSMP trail crew and FCC members to stabilize the base of the climbing wall and demarcate the climbing access trail from the regular hiking trail.
We will meet between 8:00am and 8:30am at the NCAR parking lot to complete volunteer waiver forms, review safety guidelines and distribute lunch, snacks and FCC t-shirts. OSMP will provide all tools but we ask that you bring work gloves and eye protection. Please make sure to wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and appropriate attire for the anticipated weather. Please leave pets at home for their safety and the safety of others.
