The 2022 Flagstaff Trash Bash – September 14

We are doing this! Join the Flatirons Climbing Council, the Boulder Climbing Community and the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks in the annual clean-up of Flagstaff Road.  We need volunteers!

Volunteers will go off trail to pick up litter in the parking lots, bouldering areas, overlooks and other popular destinations. OSMP and the FCC/BCC will coordinate volunteers, provide garbage bags, and needed information to participants.

Wednesday, September 14

Event from 4:00pm to 8:30pm

The Stone Shelter by Sunrise Amphitheater

To get there, go about 3 miles up Flagstaff Road and go right toward Sunrise Amphitheater. Look for  the “Stone Shelter” just west of the parking lot.

This year’s guest speaker is Amity Warme.  In Amity’s own words:

I am a chronically over-stoked rock climber, perpetually pursuing the next big adventure. I find climbing compelling because it provides the opportunity for me to push my limits, physically and mentally, while exploring incredible landscapes and connecting with others in the climbing community. I live in a van with my husband, Connor. We spend much of the year traveling to various climbing destinations, seeking out adventures big and small. A couple of my favorite destinations are Yosemite, CA, Indian Creek, UT, and Rocky Mountain National Park, CO. My secret climbing superpower is trying REALLY hard – I don’t give up!
What she loves about climbing:
  • I thrive on the opportunity to push myself both physically and mentally. Climbing provides a space for me to continually test my limits while also connecting with the world around me on a deeper level and interacting with others in the climbing community. I love digging deep to accomplish a goal.

  • I also appreciate connecting with climbing partners through a shared experience. I am always amazed at the accomplishments that teamwork and mutual stoke can lead to and I value learning from those around me. I find great joy in empowering others to believe in themselves and their ability to achieve something great.

What she does outside of climbing:

  • I am pursuing a career in sports nutrition so I enjoy helping others fine tune their fueling to maximize their potential. I also love to cook and enjoy sharing a delicious meal or a pan of fresh baked goodies with fellow climbers after a big day out adventuring.

We will have an online auction to bid on some amazing items ranging from gym memberships, climbing gear and related services.
