New wag bag dispenser box for Seal Rock

We recently installed a new human waste bag dispenser box on the approach trail to Seal Rock. Look for it approximately 100 ft above the junction with the Mesa Trail.

To date the Flatirons Climbing Council (FCC) has commissioned the fabrication of four of the metal boxes and donated them OSMP to be installed in the Flatirons. The four dispenser boxes are located as follows, one is at the base of the NW face of the Slab, one near the base of Der Zerkle, one close to Third Flatiron near the Satellite Boulders and now this new box on the approach to Seal Rock. The Boulder Climbing Community (BCC) administers the volunteer program that stocks the boxes with the bag kits and the FCC is a sponsor of the program with cash donations to maintain proper stock in the Flatirons.

Each bag kit typically includes a waste bag, zip-close puncture-resistant storage bag, toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The waste bag comes with an absorbent medium that turns waste into a stable gel for easy transport and safe disposal. They are recommended as the best Leave No Trace solution to human waste needs.

Consider using the bags as needed and disposing of them properly on your return home from climbing in the Flatirons.
